About us

Bird Flight is a UK production company run by Producers Lizzie Brown and Emily Precious making high-end, talent-led, original ideas and adaptations of existing IP including books, plays and news articles. Our taste is defined by projects that empower, illuminate and entertain.

Inspired by the ever-evolving industry, Bird Flight carefully consider the best format and output for each individual story whether it be Film, TV or emerging media.

We are working with industry partners across the slate including BFI, Film4, Netflix, Sony, Blumhouse, Sunnymarch, Stigma, Bankside, Sid Gentle, White Horse Pictures and Grey Seal Media.

Alongside our own development and production slate we seek to collaborate with other producers working individually as producer-for-hire, line producer, field producer, production consultant as well as feasibility endeavours including budgets & schedules. Simultaneously Bird Flight can provide full end-to-end production services to international clients and collaborators across narrative, commercial and documentary.

Ongoing collaborations include See-Saw Films, Elton John & Rocket Pictures, White Horse Pictures and the Kennedy/Marshall Company.

Emily Precious

Emily is a Producer, Line Producer and Field Producer across film, TV, documentary and commercials. She is currently Production Consultant for See-Saw Films working on Sweetpea S1 for Sky and Heartstopper S3 for Netflix. She was the Supervising Consultant Producer - Post Production, on Heartstopper Season 2.

Recent Credits with Bird Flight include: THE NIGHTJAR (Consulting Producer leading a 20 week writers room for Netflix/Chernin in LA), LAYLA for Film4/BFI (Line Producer), DEATH OF ENGLAND: FACE TO FACE for Sky Arts/National Theatre (Line Producer), CARMILLA starring Tobias Menzies, Jessica Raine & Greg Wise (Producer), the six-time Emmy nominated Bee Gee's doc, HOW DO YOU MEND A BROKEN HEART (Field Producer) and Elton John's LOOK YOURSELF eyewear campaign for Walmart/Sam's Club (Producer).

Prior to Bird Flight, Emily worked for Fred Films as Production Executive and Associate Producer. Credits included: THE COLONY, BREATHE, CROOKED HOUSE, FINDING YOUR FEET, PATRICK, FISHERMAN’S FRIENDS, COME AWAY, BLITHE SPIRIT and 3 seasons of DARK MATTER for SyFy and Netflix. Previous on set production credits include Ron Howard’s PAVAROTTI and BEATLES documentaries, ROCKS, ANTHROPOID and THE MAN WHO KNEW INFINITY. Whilst at Ealing Studios, Emily’s credits include: KIDS IN LOVE, NINA and Jack Black’s THE D-TRAIN. Emily is proud to be a mentor for the BUMBLE FEMALE FILM FORCE and CREATIVE MENTOR NETWORK: OPEN HOUSE. As well as being a voting member for BIFA, she was on the 2021 ‘New Talent’ jury responsible for selecting Debut Director, Debut Screenwriter, Most Promising Newcomer and Breakthrough Producer.

Lizzie Brown

Lizzie is an entrepreneurial producer with significant experience in raising private finance and business management. She financed and produced her debut feature film in the early days of SEIS and the film went on to received a home-ent release with Netflix and Amazon Prime. Following this success, Lizzie produced Dan Hodgson’s short film LOVE IS BLIND which was nominated for a Palme d’Or in Cannes and Best British Short at the BIFAS whilst touring festivals worldwide, securing multi-territory distribution and amassing over 250,000 views online as a Vimeo Staff Pick of the Year.

Together with Emily, Lizzie has successfully secured financial backing for Bird Flight Films by a private investor and was awarded the the BFI Vision Award in 2020.

Lizzie was mentored by Neal Street's Pippa Harris (1917, Call the Midwife, Revolutionary Road) through the Lighthouse Guiding Lights programme and has gone on to pay it forward as an official mentor of the BUMBLE Female Film Force alongside Emily.

Lizzie launched the pilot SCREEN FRINGE programme in 2019 for Screen Scotland with the goal of encouraging and enabling better connectivity between the screen industries and the wealth of talent on display at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Lizzie was a member of the 2020/21 NEW TALENT Jury for the BIFAs, responsible for selecting Debut Director, Debut Screenwriter, Most Promising Newcomer and Breakthrough Producer.
