Death of England: Face to Face, written by Clint Dyer and Roy Williams, is a story of two childhood friends, Delroy and Michael, who have grown up in East London. Continuing a story that began in two distinct monologues from each character previously staged at the National Theatre, this film sees Delroy and Michael recounting the story of the eventful day they have just experienced, whilst intercutting moments of their past and their families as they tell a story about race, perspective, friendship and love. Using the National Theatre as a film studio, it combines a cinematic look with a theatrical language and imagination.

Bird Flight Films are incredibly proud to have worked with David Sabel and the National Theatre to bring this truly original production to life.

Death of England: Face to Face was nominated for a BAFTA and an RTS Award.
